Highlights & Recaps of our Work
DPO-KC has provided grant-writing as well as sub-contract partnership support for Electro Mundo, which is a family-operated nonprofit in the heart of Kansas City, Kansas, dedicated to the recycling of electronic waste, and the certified refurbishing and distribution of laptops, desktops, and printers and monitors for organizations that serve low-income communities of color and rural areas. Providing low-cost and reliable technology devices forms the backbone of a vibrant digital inclusion ecosystem
Scholar Smarts is a small nonprofit focused on empowering middle and high school students for college and career readiness. Often denied grants in competition with larger organizations, Scholar Smarts was awarded a collection of laptops with tech support, thanks provided by DPO-KC in a sub-contract with Electro Mundo.
DPO-KC provided laptops and a tech field day to this international school dedicated to both education and elite soccer training for kids of refugee and immigrant families in the heart of Northeast Kansas City.
Pastor Brandon Mims has worked with DPO-KC to obtain laptops and an office printer for the Eastside Community Action Network and the Midtown Outreach Center, both serving recovering addicts and other vulnerable populations along the Prospect corridor in Kansas City's urban core.
The Parkville Living Center (PLC) is a space designed to facilitate community, where people can come together to explore all that life has to offer, together. After being denied grants in competition with larger organizations, the PLC partnered with DPO-KC to obtain laptops and wifi tech support for the many programs serving older adults in the region.
This small, diverse community in south Kansas City provides activities serving youth and adults in need of a broad range of basic social and educational needs. DPO-KC provided laptops and a startup subscription for a brand new high-speed broadband internet network, with public wifi available through the interior and exterior of the Association property.
